In a new report from Savills and Ellandi, it states that Community shopping centres are playing an increasingly important role.
- 78% of shoppers visit one at least weekly
- 92% at least monthly
- By contrast, 15% of consumers nationally visit large regional shopping centres weekly
- Retail parks draw 19% of shoppers at least once a week, rising to 53% for high streets
The report also states 44% of trips to community shops are over an hour, longer still in London. It seems to dispel the though that such shopping centres have had their day. But, Morgan Garfield, managing director at Ellandi, says: “Successful shopping centres have to be relevant to their core shoppers.
